SmokeSygnals was founded by a family of marketing, advertising and public relations experts that shared a vision for building a native-owned production company with a commitment to tackling systemic racism through exhibits, art and film.

Our Managing Partners and production team of writers, videographers, photographers and graphic and web designers have decades of experience delivering solutions that help our clients' that share our vision for balance and perspective.

Paula Peters, Public relations and new media pundit

Paula is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with extensive experience helping clients seek clarity and confidence in their message. She is a former journalist and columnist for the Cape Cod Times and was recognized regionally and nationally for her writing. She has also served as the director of public affairs for a major transportation agency and the director of marketing for a world-class, Smithsonian affiliate museum.  Paula is an active advocate for diversity initiatives locally and nationally.

Paula holds a B.S in communications from Bridgewater State University.

Steven peters, branding and creative development wiz

Steven is responsible for the development of historical exhibits, content and interactive attractions that challenge historical myths. His work can be seen on Newbury Street in Boston, the Box Museum in Plymouth England, the Museum De Lakenhal in Lieden, and the Pilgrim Hall Museum and Provincetown Museum in Massachusetts. In addition, he provided the creative direction for the traveling exhibit "Our" Story: 400 Years of Wampanoag History, an exhibit that has been featured in Time Magazine, New York Times, BBC Radio and many other national and international publications for its ability to correct historical inaccuracies.

Steven holds a B.S. in marketing and communications from Bridgewater State University and is a graduate from the Community Leadership Institute.
